Tom Hanks Has Three Fifths of a Brain
In his endorsement of Barak Obama yesterday, Tom Hanks demonstrated why celebrities look ridiculous endorsing political candidates, especially ingnorami such as himself. He also proved that even gifted actors can also be fools.
Take his assertion that our country is “a country that once said that people of his color were only three fifths of a human being.” How utterly pathetic. What is his source of “once said”? The U.S. Constitution? Well, the Constitution does make reference to “three fifths” but in a context quite contradictory to what Tom Hanks, Jeremiah Wright, and other charlatans claim. For the benefit of those who never made it past the sixth grade, as well as those who may have been indoctrinated by “progressive” teachers, here are the words of Article I, Sect. 2 precisely:
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Number of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.” (emphasis added)
Do you see any reference to skin color? How about human beings? Is any race classified as less than a whole person? None of the above.
Anyone who reads that paragraph and concludes that its intention was anything other than to deny states who did not grant freedom to its total population regardless of skin color with the same representation in Congress as those who did is as stupid as Tom Hanks.
